In response to Governor Ducey’s Executive Order on 6/29/2020 the Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department will make the following adjustments to our Recreation Reopening plan:

  • The Red Mountain Center will be closed beginning June 30, 2020 through at least July 27, 2020.  Memberships will be suspended during this closure. Aster Aging Senior services will not be available onsite.
  • Public pools will reduce public swim capacities and enforce increased social distancing measures to follow the Executive Order. Swimming lessons and fitness lap swim will continue as scheduled.
  • Summer Camp programs will continue to operate as they meet capacity and social distancing requirements.
  • The Mesa Tennis Center will limit its capacity to no more than 50 people.
  • Sports field rentals will continue to operate facilitating team practices only and will require compliance of social distancing requirements.

Open during the summer months for public swim, City of Mesa pools are a great place to cool off.

Public Swim Summer 2020:

Public Swim will be offered at four locations: Kino Aquatic Center, Skyline Aquatic Center, Rhodes Aquatic Complex, and Shepherd Aquatic Complex in a limited capacity beginning on July 1. Public swim will be Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at all four pools as well as Sundays at Skyline and Rhodes.

To participate in public swim, families and individuals must pre-register for a public swim time frame at the pool through our online registration system, ActiveNet. Registration for July 1 will open on Monday June 29th at 8am and registrations for each week thereafter will open on the Monday of that week at 8am.
All people entering the facility must be registered.

 We will not accept walk-up/drop-in participants for public swim. We will be accepting a max of 50 participants per hour and 15-minute time frame. No lounge chairs will be provided and the 6ft distancing measures per family group will be enforced. There will be no use of the locker rooms for storage or showering, bathroom use only. A responsible (13+) guardian must accompany children ages 8 or younger.

Fee: $2.00/person entering the facility.
