  • All recreation programming and events are suspended.  In addition, we have closed recreation facilities for programming including Red Mountain Center, Eagles Community Center, Jefferson Recreation Center, Webster Recreation Center, Mesa Tennis Center, Kino Aquatic Center and Skyline Aquatic Center. Private rentals of City parks and facilities will be managed on a case by case basis with event organizers.

  • City playgrounds, volleyball, tennis, basketball courts, pickleball courts, and splash pads are closed.

  • All open spaces, passive play spaces, dog parks, trails, and walking paths will remain open for public use from sunrise to 10 PM.  Physical distancing guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still apply in these areas.

    • The following park restrooms will remain open and will receive cleaning and supply service as resources allow. All other park restrooms remain closed until further notice.

      • Red Mountain Park
      • Riverview Park

  • While parks are cleaned and maintained on a regular basis, we encourage users to remember, the best way to reduce the risk of getting sick and to avoid COVID-19:
    • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Stay home when you are sick.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

City of Mesa Adult Sport Recess For AdultsNew in town or looking for fun people to play sports with? Bring a friend and your inner kid for the newest City of Mesa program, Recess for Adults! Recess for Adults is a recreation program for those who would like to try multiple activities. Each week, a new sport or game will be offered. Players will have a chance to compete and socialize. This program is geared towards adults (18+) of all skill levels. Locations may change from week to week. However, locations will always be within City of Mesa limits. Mini tournament format. Games will be self-officiated. Sign up as a pair. This is considered your team and will be kept together throughout the season. Expect mingling and fun! Post weekly get togethers at local establishments.

General League Information:

  • Spring registration: March 3 - 24, 2020
  • League is scheduled to begin Thursday, April 2nd
  • No refunds, unless the league is cancelled.
  • All players must be at least 18 years old as of the first night of the league to participate.
  • Leagues are offered Thursday evenings.
  • Game times start no earlier than 7:00pm
  • Team fee is $100
  • Teams consist of two players and one sub. A max of two players can participate per night. Must be the same two players per night

If you are an individual looking to join a team, you may be placed on the free agent/players list.  Placement on the free-agent list doesn't guarantee placement on a team, it just makes your information available to coaches looking for players.
