About Youth Sports Programs
The City of Mesa Youth Sports Department provides a diverse range of experiences to help kids develop new physical and social skills in a fun, cooperative and safe environment instructed by knowledgeable and supportive coaches. Youth Sports programs contribute to your child's physical, emotional, educational, social and cultural growth and development.
The City of Mesa Youth Sports programs give your child an opportunity to participate in team and individual sports without regard to physical condition, sex, race, religion, social or economic status. Your child's dignity and self-worth is of utmost importance to us.
City of Mesa Youth Sports has earned the Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider designation for 2018/2019.
The Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider designation is a seal of commitment to quality based on nationally accepted standards. Achieving this designation demonstrates City of Mesa Youth Sports has undergone a review process and has shown a commitment to a safe, quality youth sports environment for the families we serve. Registration Fee Assistance
Mesa residents who cannot afford registration fees because of economic need may apply for fee assistance.

Part-Time Job Opportunities:
City of Mesa Youth Sports is currently hiring instructors and referees. Perfect for anyone who likes working in a fun environment with sports and kids. We have year-round opportunities including soccer, basketball, volleyball and flag football officials as well as lacrosse and multi-sport instructors. Training provided.
Staff may select one or more programs to work each season.
Basketball Referees (January-March)
Saturdays, 7am-4pm, Eagles Community Center/Webster Rec Center, Mesa

Youth Ambassador Program:
5th-8th graders, Boys and Girls
Program for youth who want to be more involved in City of Mesa Youth Sports and their community. This program is youth driven and peer to peer leadership initiative where participants have the opportunity to: attend monthly meetings; volunteer at monthly outreach and community events and at youth sports programs; educate and influence peers, parents and the community on health and wellness in youth sports and daily life; help plan and implement the program's actions, goals and activities; build lifelong skills and be recognized as a leader amongst their peers; earn incentives such as free registration, sports equipment and merit pins for participation and contribution.

Positive Play Project encourages youth development and wellness in sports. City of Mesa Youth Sports has partnered with several local organizations to provide high quality trainings, resources and outreach in areas including positive coaching, concussion awareness, injury prevention, equipment and safety gear access, hydration, nutrition, financial assistance and scholarships.
